- Safety Advisory: Recent Tsunami Activity Reported in Japan
- Dear YISS students, Greetings from the YISS Office. A recent article reports that a tsunami of 50 centimeters was detected at the Ishinomaki port in northern Japan, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency: https://www.koreaherald.com/article/10543080. If you plan to travel to Japan this weekend, please kindly take a moment to read this message. Travel should be enjoyable, but staying prepared is the key to staying safe. - TikTok Giveaway EVENT! #YISSDayInTheLife
- TikTok Giveaway Guidelines: #YISSDayInTheLife We’re hosting a fun TikTok giveaway for current YISS students! This is a chance for students to show us what a “day in the life” at Yonsei looks like and win a prize. Giveaway Timeline: · Start Date: Friday, July 25, 2025 · End Date: Thursday, July 31, 2025 at 11:59 PM KST · Winner Announced: Friday, August 1, 2025 How to Enter: 1. Create a TikTok video that shows your “day in the life” as a YISS student. This can include classes, campus life, food, exploring Korea, or anything that represents your Yonsei study abroad experience. 2. Post between Sunday and Thursday (July 27 ~ July 31) on TikTok. 3. Include the hashtag #YISSDayInTheLife #YISS #YISS2025 in your caption. 4. Follow and tag @yonseistudyabroad_yiss in the TikTok. Students are welcome to submit more than one video during the giveaway period; each application will count as an entry to be assessed. (But each student can only win 1 prize) Winner Selection: · Creativity and originality · Storytelling and clarity · Overall vibe and relatability Prize: · 1st place- 100,000 KRW credit at the Yonsei Co-op store · 2nd place- 50,000 KRW credit at the Yonsei Co-op store · 3rd place- 30,000 KRW credit at the Yonsei Co-op store *Students must visit the YISS Office to retrieve the prize. - [YISS] Student ID Card Usage and Bank Account Information
- 1. Usage The YISS student ID card can be used as an official form of student identification and provides access to the library. 2. Financial Transactions Please note that the YISS student ID card cannot be used to open or link to a bank account. If you wish to make a payment, please use cash or a card that is enabled for international transactions, as the student ID card cannot be used for payments. 3. Re-issuance Please be aware that the YISS student ID card cannot be reissued under any circumstances. Make sure to keep it safe and do not lose it.

- [2025 YISS] Course Withdrawal
- Reminder: 2025 YISS Academic Calendar Yonsei International Summer School Dear YISS Students, Greetings from the YISS Office! We would like to inform you of the 2025 YISS Academic Calendar. As the 2nd week of the YISS has started, we would like to remind you that the course withdrawal period is approaching. Please note that withdrawal is based on the duration of each course, NOT your program length. Withdrawals for "4-Week" Courses: 10 AM, July 9 (Wed) ~ 5 PM, July 10 (Thur) Withdrawals for "6-Week" Courses: 10 AM, July 16 (Wed) ~ 5 PM, July 17 (Thur) Not sure if your course is 4-week or 6-week? → Check the course syllabus or the 2025 YISS Course List Regarding Course Withdrawals [HOW TO WITHDRAW COURSE(S)] Go to the Yonsei Portal → Select Language: ENG → Log in with your Student ID → Navigate to 'Academic Information System' → 'Academic Information' → 'Courses' → 'Application for withdrawal of courses' → Click 'Withdrawal' button on the course you would like to withdraw from and provide a reason. After submitting, check the "Withdrawal List" or the "course registration details" menu for confirmation. [IMPORTANT NOTES] Withdrawals are only allowed during the designated period above. The system will be closed afterward, and cannot be reopened. Withdrawn course(s) cannot be refunded due to the YISS refund policy. Withdrawn course(s) will NOT appear on your transcript but will show a "W" mark on the Yonsei Portal system. Once a course is withdrawn, the action cannot be undone. Please think carefully and be certain before withdrawing.
